Governor Erico
Aristotle C. Aumentado is now setting a monumental stint on seizing opportunities
in the national arena. As he advances in leading the province towards a
significant economic rise in the post-pandemic era, he is confident that the
Bohol Tourism Industry is now geared up for an exciting reboot.
Happening on September
30, 2022, to October 2, 2022, in SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia Complex is
the 33rd Philippine Travel Mart organized by the Philippine
Tour Operators Association (PhilToA) with the cooperation of the Department
of Tourism.
As reported in
2019, before the pandemic, the Tourism Industry facilitated the deployment of
5.7 million workers, representing 13.6 % of the country’s total number of employees
. And during the first semester of this year, Bohol recorded a 52% growth in
the number of tourists coming in.
As tourism is
now in the advent of revival, it is a challenge for the province of Bohol to
surmount and hit a laudable impact in economic turnouts. On September 30, 2022,
Gov. Aris, during the opening salvo, encouraged every Boholano to take part in
this remarkable journey – the departure from the dilemma that was Covid-19 to
the revival of the local economy - by patronizing Boholano products and
experiencing momentous trips to Bohol scenic spots: from pristine white beaches
to a rolling terrain of chocolate hills, among others.
Among the exhibitors
present in the event are South Farm, South Palms Resort, Bluewater Panglao
Beach Resort, Mithi Resort and Spa, Bohol Beach Club, Modala Beach Resort,
Solea Coast Resort Panglao, Bellevue Resort, Chandelier Wedding Coordination
and Events, RIO VERDE Floating Resort, RAMYER Travel and Tours/Bohol Sunside
Resort, Bohol Society of Travel Agencies (BSTA), Best Western Plus (BW), Apronia Delicacies,
Pic and Post with POLER, Loboc River Resort/Cruise, Municipality of Loboc,
Municipality of Anda, Municipality of Panglao, Municipality of Antequera and the Bohol
Provincial Government.
The three
Congressional Representatives: Edgar Chatto, Vanessa C. Aumentado, and Alexie
Tutor graced the event together with the SP Board Members Tita Baja and Jamie A.
Villamor. The Provincial Administrator Aster
Caberte joined the team together with the DOT Usec./RD Shalimar Tamano,
Provincial Tourism Council Chair Lucas Nunag and Bohol Tourism Head Jo
Cabarrus.
Gob. Aris is
confident that with the participation of the Boholanos in this endeavor, the Bohol
Tourism Industry will in no time attain a significant impact on the province’s
economic status.
